"Barack Obama's difficulties are the result of racism: It has been a frequently recurring theme ever since he emerged as a serious presidential candidate. Obama himself has raised it occasionally, though not often, but his supporters fall back on it all the time--including now."....................

"So let's try a different tack. For the purpose of argument, let's stipulate that the assertion is true: that racism is the reason Barack Obama is unable to govern effectively. What are the implications?

Obviously it lets Obama off the hook by framing his presidency as a failure not of leadership but of followership. In this view, Obama is an adequate leader, maybe even a great one, but American racism is too strong a force to overcome.

The trouble with this for the president's supporters is that one cannot assert Obama is unable to govern effectively because of racism without conceding that he is unable to govern effectively. To put it mildly, that is not a strong argument in favor of re-electing him."

So a lack of racism got him elected, (and the majority of Americans lean right)...but then because of racism, he is unable to govern effectively? That just doesn't make sense. If he had focused on helping businesses first instead of wasting a year on a bad HC bill, we may be in better shape jobs wise and people would not be so critical of his performance (which I've not seen one person in the left say he has performed well).

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

I'm a racist in the mind of liberal because I root for the home team instead of the visiting team during the NFL season.

Well, let's pretend there is a half white/half black football team (which is winning) and they are beating a predominately black team yet I root for the winning team...that makes me a racist in the mind of liberals... it's just like when Duke Basketball beats the snot out of some urban thug predominately black team - I'm a Duke bball fan - so that makes me a racist too.
