The rest of it - it seems a compliment, yet...
Think I'll wait for the other shoe to drop.

A lot of smart women come here because their own husbands are not fool enough to try to debate with them.
Oh I'm a fool then because I debate with Lil Precious way too much..Today it was about her need to save a dozen dead AA batteries in the junk drawer
Maybe she could explain why my husband does that. Do they think they will somehow regenerate?
(And yeah, you're probably a fool if you're here debating smart women. They'll wipe the floor with ya, you know that, don't you?)

CinnamonGirl wrote: I am going to admit something here that I rarely do. Sometimes, I will not talk to women when calling customer service on the phone. They are less likely to want to help with your problem and be argumentative when I have a serious issue. Especially in tech. They can be more stubborn. I did run into a gal from India that was very knowledgeable and was a real help but if I have a real problem that I know is going to require the customer service person to go outside the normal box or I have a complaint, I will call back until I get a man. Because my chances of getting my problem fixed is way higher. I feel guilty about this and every time I tell myself I am being ridiculous and try again. Then it seems the gal on the other line does it again and I call back to get a man. It is not that they are not smart it is just that I can't get anything done with someone that does not WANT to help.
Women and men are smart but in different ways. Generally there are strengths and weaknesses and different temperaments. So, when dealing in business with men your styles are vastly different (being general here) and if you are the only woman they are going to expect you to give in to the way they do things. It is not an easy road to navigate. Sometimes it is not about smart or maybe a better way to put it is, you can be smart but if you cannot play the game it doesn't matter and you won't be taken seriously. Learning how to overcome these differences is the key and there still are some automatic stereo types.
I find the temperaments, cultures and automatic stereo types to be the difference it is not about smart.

I used to work in a customer service center. That is way more common than you would think. I used to have people cry to me and I was more of a psychiatrist then a customer service provider.
