History Lesson: If you look at the late seventies and early eighties in England, the country was on the verge of bankruptcy. They had opened their borders to the Moluccas and the Pakistanis. They thought they were importing cheap labor. Well the "immigrants" chose not to work but went on the dole. Now substitute Mexicans, Guatemalans, etc for Moluccas and the Pakistanis and you are looking at the model that the US has followed. The anarchy that is now being shown in England may not be that far from the us here in the states. However, there is one difference: The largest standing army in the world is in the US – its armed citizenry. And (at least from those that I spoke with) we will not tolerate that activity here.
You could be right, but if these new immigrants assimilate and set up small businesses, they could be great assets. Their high birth rate will provide the money to keep funding our Social Security and other entitlements.
Without immigrants and negative population growth, fewer and fewer taxpayers will be there to support our seniors.
And from the news stories I am seeing, lots of the Brit rioters are white.

Also, unlike previous immigration waves most are not only not assimilating, they aer staying within their own englaves. They are not even learning the language or customs in a alot of instances.

I think you are describing a past that never really happened. New York City used to have dozens of foreign language papers in the last century, there were even plays put on in foreign languages, like Yiddish.
My ancestors came to Ohio in 1830 and didn't bother learning English until 1914.
But unlike other immigration waves, most of these are one language, Spanish, but diverse cultures Mexican, Cuban, Puerto Rican, Guatemala, etc, so it may seem more threatening.
