Last November, Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) published Fed Up, a 240-page ode to tentherism, which argues that everything from child labor laws to the Clean Air Act to Medicare violates the Constitution. As it turns out, however, claiming that America’s entire social safety net is unconstitutional isn’t a very popular position -- so Perry’s now trying to take it all back just one week into his presidential campaign.

One of the reasons Obama won? Because he didn't have a record to run on as an executive.
Why Elena Kagan won her nomination? Because she was as quiet as she could be about her personal beliefs.
Why the Dem Congress didn't submit a budget before the 2010 election? So that they wouldn't pass anything unpopular.
It will be interesting to see if more non-involved politicians win out over those who are actually willing to take unpopular views. Perry back-tracking from his book is a sign that his campaign handlers are putting him into line.

Yes, and he's such a "patriot", and "loves America"... (Was that before or after he wanted to secede from the Union?)
I am not a Perry supporter. I am still undecided about the current crop. In fact, the RNC called up last night asking for money and my wife told them to call us back when you have some better choices.
Is Michelle Obama a patriot when she says her husband's election was the first time she was ever proud to be an American?
