Obama conquers Libya - War #3

22 Aug 2011 16:44 #1 by Residenttroll returns
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The regime of Col. Moammar Gadhafi has fallen, and the U.S. will work closely with Libyan rebels to ensure a peaceful transition to democracy, President Barack Obama said Monday. There were still pockets of fierce fighting in the country, Obama said, and he called Gadhafi to tell his forces to lay down their arms. But Obama spoke as if the end of Gadhafi's regime was a fait accompli. The transition should be "peaceful, inclusive and just," Obama said. He said he would push international aid to Libya to the forefront of next month's United Nations General Assembly session. Obama said he would turn frozen financial assets of the Gadhafi government to the rebel political leadership, Transitional National Council.

I am sure that Muhammad is pleased too - as they killed lots of Muslims in the process....it's amazing how many Muslims - the Muslims have killed since 1948.... wow, it's a small number....like 11 million.... OBama is a proud one.

Maybe you could write a nice local fluff piece like the Denver Post has been doing the past two days about the Muslims in Colorado. rofllol rofllol rofllol

It's funny to watch the Righties... They can't decide whether to criticize for him not going in full-bore and committing troops, and starting another unnecessary war like Bush did; or criticize him for not saying "May I?" loud enough and helping around the edges with NATO and the intelligence that we provided... It depends on which wingnut commentator they listened to most recently.

But whatever it is, if Obama had suggested "apple pie" for dessert, they would have called it a "communist plot."

I haven't high fived anyone over this, but then you were talking in generalities, weren't you?

I was taking a poke at any U.S. president who thinks we are the ones who should tell the rest of the world how they should conduct their own internal affairs.

Yeah, if we took Obama's lead ....should we end the 50 year reign of socialism in America the same way? Maybe the chinese will support the rebels...or would the UN?

Where's all the anti-war coverage on the media....like during the Bush years? Just wondering....3 wars and no anti-war chants as the lead story....no coverage of protesters outside of the Obama vacation.
