Early Leftist Media Attacks On Bachman & Perry?

Shouldn't the Dems actually stay quiet about the more radical Presidential alternatives?
Too often, if you expose the issues politicians have early, they are ignored later on in the campaign.
John Stewart seems to be smarter, pushing Ron Paul as a viable, popular choice.

Or can the Dems just not resist trashing Republicans, and the more right wing, the more they try to take them down?
