Ritter to get $ 150K per year PERA retirement in 5 years

When former Gov. Bill Ritter got a $300,000-a-year job heading up a renewable-energy center at Colorado State University, he and college officials touted the fact his salary would be funded by private foundations, not taxpayers.
But while Ritter's compensation as director of the newly created Center for the New Energy Economy is privately funded, his position allows him to qualify for retirement credit with the Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association, the state pension fund that relies on significant taxpayer support.
And with his prior state service, Ritter, who turns 55 next month, could work another five years and be eligible at age 60 to retire and receive annual benefits equal to 50 percent of his current salary — or $150,000 a year.

RT: Bend over fellow Coloradans ....here's why the Democrats want to get rid of TABOR. PERA needs cash.

Oh goody, look ...it's a member of the Gang of Four member funding the program at CSU.....yeah, this is thug politics.

The Center for the New Energy Economy, including Ritter's $300,000 annual salary, is being funded by the San Francisco-based Energy Foundation, and the Fort Collins-based Bohemian Foundation, created by wealthy Democratic supporter Pat Stryker. CSU officials said the private funding also covers the employer contribution for Ritter's PERA benefits

Not only was he incompetent as a governor, now we will be paying him off for decades. 150K a year? Still a lot cheaper than all the damage he did in office.
