How are you so certain he lied? And what did he allegedly lie about? Talk about narrow minded.
From where I sit, it seems like you can't get your liberal tenderfoot scout badge unless you proclaim loudly that you hate Dick Cheney. My guess is that he won't be selling his book to any of the 285 Bound liberals. I'm sure he is shattered.
I still think folks ought to read the book to get his side of the story. I thought that's what this nation was all about...giving a person an opportunity to speak his or her piece. Then after hearing their version of the story, drawing your own conclusions. I'm curious how much the "haters" in this room (you know, the progressive haters) have read Mr. Cheney's written word versus the crap that's published in the slanted media?

The depth of the venom and group think from extremists on both sides never ceases to amaze me.
I have not followed his career so I have no idea if this reflects history accurately, but it is an interesting perspective.
"Impromptus readers are familiar with a theme of mine: For decades, CHENEY was one of the most RESPECTED Republicans in the country. RESPECTED by all sides and factions. This was true when he was with Ford, when he was a House member (and leader), when he was defense secretary. John Tower’s nomination went down, Bush (41) turned to CHENEY, and everyone said “Hurrah.” You never heard a bad word about Dick CHENEY. He was the ultimate in the sober, sensible, responsible politician-statesman.
But now he’s viewed as a right-wing monster: a Torquemada or Attila the Hun. What the heck happened? I put this question, about image, to CHENEY himself. (Kate interjected, “I’m surprised he’s allowed to live near preschools.”)
