Obama’s DOJ Advises Gibson Guitar to Outsource its Labor

It seems that the Department of Justice wasn’t satisfied with merely raiding the law abiding factories of Gibson Guitar with armed agents, shutting down their operation costing them millions, and leaving the American company in the dark as to how to proceed without going out of business.

Now, according to CEO Henry Juszkiewicz, agents of the United States government are bluntly informing them that they’d be better off shipping their manufacturing labor overseas.

The usual half-truth from the wingnuts... They're trying to make it sound like the DOJ said they should outsource to Madagascar thus putting American workers out of a job... I call bullsh*t...

So why the comments about Madagascar labor? The latest raid may offers some insight. In the most recent case, the Feds say Gibson violated the U.S. Lacey Act by importing wood from India not finished by Indian workers. But Gibson says the Lacey Act only applies if foreign law has been violated, and it hasn’t been in this case:

The Federal Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. has suggested that the use of wood from India that is not finished by Indian workers is illegal, not because of U.S. law, but because it is the Justice Department’s interpretation of a law in India. (If the same wood from the same tree was finished by Indian workers, the material would be legal.) This action was taken without the support and consent of the government in India.

That could then explain the alleged comments by the Feds that Gibson could avoid problems by outsourcing labor to Madagascar: if workers in Madagascar finished the wood then — considering the DOJ’s interpretation of the law — there would be no problem.

Either way, the raid has been costly on the American business that employes about 2,000 people. According to Juskiewicz, “my personal guess is somewhere in the neighborhood of $2 million to $3 million.”

Supposedly Gibson's competitor who also uses "illegal" foreign wood is a big contributor to the Democratic Party so they weren't raided.

Greasing palms still works.

And to me it sounds like Gibson isn't breaking US laws, just Indian laws. Why are we enforcing other country's laws? Should we return women back to Islamic countries to face stoning for adultry?

"Juszkiewicz, who's long maintained a relationship with Greenpeace and other environmental organizations, says that a broker probably made a mistake in labeling the goods but that the sale was legal and approved by Indian authorities."

Perfect example showing that Obama dosn't give a hoot about American Jobs. Yea- he'll play lip service to the issue- blaming everything but his own policies.

Jobs plan- what a joke- this guy is famous for saying one thing and doing another.

And I don't think they are failed policies- I think he wants to chase away jobs.

He will do as much damage to the economy as possible, and if he's elected again- he'll have us all knocked down to a third world standard of living.

He will have accomplished his dream of equality for all.

Want an example of how this government is killing America- here it is!

You're exactly right, HIB. Obama wants to chase away jobs so unemployment will increase so he won't get re-elected.

Obama wants to chase away jobs and make it as hard on businesses with unrelenting attacks of regulation and threats ot taxes - at the same time seeming to care about the economy.

It's all a bunch of crap wayne- and I think your smart enough to know it.

He says he cares about jobs while at the same time making it as hard as possible on those who create jobs.

He's killing this country, one company raid at a time. One more regulation at a time.

The number of damaged lives and careers is in the tens of millions thanks to him and everyone who drank the coolaid and voted for him- like you wayne.

Thanks for nothin.

Why would Obama want to do that? What possible motive would he have to want to destroy America?
