Precisely my point with the repetitiveness of the OP (not to knock on neptune, cuz I love him to death, just tiring of these kinds of articles) There is absolutely no consideration of reality or fact. I know! Just look at global warming, vaccines, and evolution... Liberals just cannot be reasoned with! (A little humor.) Neither can Buddhists, conservatives, atheists, Christians, etc etc etc. Too damned many irrational people, period. lol

Bush was not a conservative. He was an opportunist and a big government guy. Agreed, and an inflexible idiot to boot

This is not about our little community, it's about those people who have a national microphone onthe left who are suppose to be "above" all the violent and divisive rhetoric. Remember the AZ shootings and the immediate blaming of right wing "violent rhetoric" ? This is just a reminder to liberals that the hate spewers are coming more from the left these days.

CriticalBill, I don't believe that there's MORE hate coming from the left than the right, unless you can prove otherwise, I'm calling it as your biases. They are all to blame, for every story you find, I could find another - to what purpose? Focusing on the group you don't agree with is just perpetuating the problem, and yes, our little community reflects what happens nationally - wanna fix a problem, start at home, or go with the Michael Jackson song, if you prefer. (not speaking to you specifically, but in general terms)

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

Soooo...let's bring up yet another article that promotes this division, uncivility, false assumptions and sh***y stereotypes that liberals say, yet again (and never mind that conservatives do it too - PrintSmith for example still can't believe that us liberals are for working for a paycheck without just having it handed to us, even when it's spelled out in black and white).

Myth #1: Conservatives are outside the American mainstream. Nope, neither are liberals. Like it or not, it's always been this way and we are stuck in this together - either bash or find a way to compromise.
Myth #2: Conservatives represent special interests. Again, no. Plenty of radical left special interest groups that are just as f***** in the head.
Myth #3: The Republican party is moving to the right More like the Republican party is losing its ideals that align with what the public wants.
etc etc etc

This is productive how? .

It is productive if those on the left realize how absurd they sound. It sounds like you get it. That is the first step to a dialogue. Speaking of the microcosm of this forum, it is hard to progress when we have x on the left who spews a constant stream of hatred and y who spews a constant stream of insane tea party distortions.

Before anyone says the obvious , I have lectured the right also.

The hate speach.....the violent rhetoric....the gotcha mentality.... is not the problem, it is a symtom of the problem. Until we start thinking like Americans, and not Democrats or Republicans it will perpetuate itself. SC is right.....for every nasty, snarky comment you find from the left, there is an equally nasty, snarky comment we could find from the right. To what purpose? when did politics become a battle to see who is the worst? If we can't get along in our own community with neighbors who have different ideas than we do, how can we expect any kind of cooperation in our government or the nation itself?
