She left a bar with a man. He said he left her at a gas station.
Yesterday, eating a late lunch, I watched Dateline or something on ID TV. Here's how it played out.
A few decades ago in NJ, a man followed a woman home from a bar because she couldn't get her car started. He then asked to use her bathroom. She let him in. He subsequently attacked her, choked her, and stabbed her with a knife. He pulled her clothes off from her upper body but didn't rape her. She was able to get away from him.
Turned out he was a suspect in a murder four years earlier, same MO. Made a deal for 20 years in prison. Was released in 11 years. Went to Connecticut and lived with his parents, with a job as a traveling salesman.
Meets woman in a bar. She disappears. He is questioned. He says he took her to a gas station and left her there. Eventually her body was found and he was convicted and is serving a life sentence.
The similarity to Kenia's murder is quite interesting: meets in a bar, leaves with her, she disappears, he leaves her at a gas station. This is what really caught my eye. He wrapped her in several layers and even made a carrying handle. He buried her in a rural area close to the Conn/Mass state line.
Just conjecture, but I wonder if the accused in Kenia's case saw that episode.
