Just caught a piece of "The View"today.....Mayor Rudi Guiliani was one of the guest and the topic of a "run" was part of a discussion....
NO verification, but was speaking as IF he was entertaining the idea ( I could NOT get an accurate read of the seriousness of his intent)
As an INDY, I would listen hard to what he had to say and might be so inclined to put my check mark next to his name...do you believe he could win the nomination?

no......Rudi is his own man, he would not be manipulated by the Tea Party nor change his views to accommodate them, as many of the current nominees have. I like Rudi, I think he did a lot for NY and seems to be a pretty smart guy.....oh, did I mention an independent guy? I don't agree with a lot of his views, but I respect him more than most Republican candidates.
The simple fact that he can appeal to some democrats will disqualify him before he even gets a campaign off the ground.
Rudi will take away a lot of votes from Romney and then it will put Perry in the White House. Palin runs, it will take away votes from Perry and put Romney in the White House.

By the time the Republican party whittles the choice down to one candidate, they will be so tarnished it will put Obama back in the White House. I don't think any of the current crop can beat him, but Rudi probably could because he is perceived as being a more moderate Republican. Unless a Republican can pull from the Democrats and entice the independents, they cannot win. Romney and Huntsman probably come the closest of the current field, but they can't get the Tea Party votes. I think once again the Tea Party will screw the Republican Party, and all you Republicans will find a way to blame democrats.
Perry is too extreme to be voted in by the majority of independent Americans and the Republican Party would be making a huge mistake to choose him as their candidate.
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
Giuliani lost a lot of respect when he made fun of community organizers at the last Republican convention.

'Community organizer' slams attract support for Obama
ST. PAUL — Some of the loudest roars at the Republican convention this week came when vice presidential pick Sarah Palin and former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani made fun of Democrat Barack Obama's experience as a community organizer. Hours later, the Obama campaign started raising money off the jokes.
Obama moved to Chicago after college and did church-based organizing to help people who lost their jobs when steel mills closed.
Jerry Kellman is the man who hired Obama as an organizer for the Developing Communities Project in 1985 at a salary of $10,000 a year. Obama's job: find out what people needed, be it job training programs, asbestos removal or potholes filled, and help them work together to get action from their elected officials.

I'm not really that impressed with any of them... though I wasn't the last go-around, either...

He is close or leading in national polls against Obama and leading in several key states like Florida. He is far from extreme. He is moderate with immigration.
