You really do have your conservative colored glasses on, with Perry blinders. Perry is indeed extreme, and because of that he will never appeal to more moderate voters. His stance on Social Security is far right of Republican Party. His views on religion make even some Republicans uncomfortable....no Mr Perry, you cannot pray for rain to end the drought, your job as Governor is to help your state deal with the drought and it's consequences. His decimation of the educational system in Texas will not endear him to parents.
I think the party is having a kind of romance with this man because of the good hair and the rugged good looks. That will wane, I believe. In the debate he just seemed angry and petulant when confronted or questioned. That will not play well over the long term. Romney made him look like a little kid who got caught lying.

I'm not really that impressed with any of them... though I wasn't the last go-around, either...
So just curious. Are you impressed with Obama?
Uhhhm.... You're kiding, right? :VeryScared:
I think the answer to that question can be found in the current situation that our country is in.
Want to know what I woudl be impressed with? I want a dual-party ticket, and I don't care which one is which, I just want them both to have a record of fiscal conservancy, and where neither are so extreme as Perry or Ron Paul, Obama or Pelosi. I'm not for the idea that a social contract requires all to pay in, (and some more than others,) but let's just say I'm slowing flowing from a fiscal conservative to a fiscal realist. Eventually reality beats out ideals, and right now we're facing too many realities to get everything I want, so I'd prefer a real compromise to the partisanship that has been going on. I'd rather we save our country than worry about what letter follows the guy's name who is running the boat.

If you look at Perry's actual record in Texas versus his posturing, you will see he is closer to a RINO than a Ron Paul. He used to be a Democrat and supported Hilary.
Guiliani? I think he missed his opportunity after 9/11. Too liberal on social issues to win Republican primaries and ran a awful campaign in 2008.

Was it really so long ago that Cons on this board were pushing Trump for their candidate? They're like kids in a candy store.

He hasn't been involved in a debate in 10 years because he doesn't do well in them. He refused to debate his last opponent.

So if it was between Trump and Obama I would vote for Trump in a heartbeat too. But he was way down on my list for candidates. And that poll did not mean anyone was 'pushing' for Trump. Nice play on words though.

They can't decide which one to pick.
