ALL of our nation's problems have been a result of Progressive Liberalism, be it Eugenics, the Temperance movement, LBJ's New Society, Republican liberalism ala Bush's insane prescription drug plan and other massive spending programs, or the Marxist ideologue now occupying our White House. It's the so-called Progressives and Liberals that have virtually destroyed this country. And now we're taking it back in order to repair it. The adults are about to be in charge again come Nov. 2012. The hope & change clown act guarantees that the insanely Leftist Democrat Party will spend the next few decades on the sidelines wondering “What happened to our Utopia?!” Don’t feel lonely though; Marx, Engels, Lenin, Hit-ler, Stalin, Mao, and friends are right there with you commiserating over the abject failure of their political philosophy and aberrant world view.
Nothing devisive in that comment. :Whistle
Edit to add:
Congratulations to both winning candidates. Hopefully they are part of the new breed of "Statesmen" that will put Country over Party and Special Interests.
The race was supposed to be an easy win for Democrats, who have a 3-1 ratio registration advantage in the district.
Weprin, a 56-year-old Orthodox Jew and member of a prominent Queens political family, seemed a good fit for the largely white, working-class district, which is nearly 40 percent Jewish.
This was also a referendum on the way that the Obama Administration has handled (screwed up) our relationship with Israel- our closest and best friend in the middle east. Obama has treated this long time friend like a red headed stepchild, even going so far as to order that Israel return to the 1967 borders before they won the war.
No doudt the lousy economy had somthing to do with this- but taking our enemies side against Israel sealed the deal. This district is 40 percent Jewish.
And that folks is what happens when your a total asswipe like Obama.
Congrats to the winner. The only problem I see with Repubs winning seats is they will be forced to actually DO something to fix the economy, not just complain from the sidelines.
Personally, I'm glad this is happening, as far as the economic situation. It will be interesting to see if the Repubs can improve the economy and actually shrink big government or if it's just all hot air.
Clearly moderate, sane Reublicans win elections. Let's hope we can learn a lesson from that.
Clearly- it was moderate and liberal republicans who together with democrats ran the spending bill up and got us into this mess. The lesson we learned is that moderate and liberal republicans are just as big government as any democrat.
It's the moderates that need to be flushed out- along with their progressive counterparts so we actually begin to cut the size of the massive government.
And they had better do somthing good for this country or the new guys should be voted out as well.

You know, for the longest time I couldn't figure out how the large, devout Jewish population in the Northeast, who are largely Democrats, were balancing their Democrat ideology with what the current Administration is doing to Israel lately. It just didn't add up. How could these devout Jews support a President who was continuously throwing Israel under the bus?
Now I get it. The question is, do Secretary Clinton or the President get it? I guess we will see. They are losing union support and now they may lose support of Jewish-Americans. Wow.
On a somewhat related note:
I saw a show the other evening on CNN talking about how the President is losing support in important sections of the country (Midwest, Southwest) due to his poor handling of the economy-places he won handily in the last election. I couldn't believe I was watching this on CNN and honestly checked to make sure the channel wasn't Fox News. Anyway I think the Admininstration and its die hard supporters have it right. They should stick with the script, continue to blame others and not be accountable, keep shirking their duties and don't change a thing. It's a perfect strategy.
Keep doing what you do, keep hoping because barring some miracle there will be some real "change" in the next election.
