They just called it!! AND the Republicans ran away with the Nevada election that the Dems thought they might be able to win. It is going to be a very bad 2012 for the Dems!!

The Dems held this seat since 1923. Obama is the greatest thing to come along for the Republican party in decades!!

Looks like he will win by 8%. More than even the best polls.

what's to spin.....the democrat lost and the Republican won. People are unhappy.....and the democrat who was running didn't do himself any favors by voting in the state assembly to legalize gay marriage when he wants to represent very orthodox jewish constituents. But that aside, people are mad, people are hurting economically and they blame Obama. Many of the voters interviewed said they were sending a message to Washington to get it together and get them jobs. The Republican, a businessman, promised he would do things differently......they all promise that. I assume he will have to run again in 2012.....

Actually that is one of the seats that NY is losing in 2013 so this is the last one to hold this seat. So now the R's lose a seat due to redistricting. But they wouldn't have held it next election anyway.

Hey, hey, hey, Libs and Dems! Listen Up! This is only the tip of the iceberg. This republican was elected in a district that is 3 to 1 democrat! Turner ran a campaign BASED on the repudiation of the Barack Obama and his inept socialist anti-American administration. ALL of our nation's problems have been a result of Progressive Liberalism, be it Eugenics, the Temperance movement, LBJ's New Society, Republican liberalism ala Bush's insane prescription drug plan and other massive spending programs, or the Marxist ideologue now occupying our White House. It's the so-called Progressives and Liberals that have virtually destroyed this country. And now we're taking it back in order to repair it. The adults are about to be in charge again come Nov. 2012. The hope & change clown act guarantees that the insanely Leftist Democrat Party will spend the next few decades on the sidelines wondering “What happened to our Utopia?!” Don’t feel lonely though; Marx, Engels, Lenin, Hit-ler, Stalin, Mao, and friends are right there with you commiserating over the abject failure of their political philosophy and aberrant world view.
