The biggest flaw I see in your plan is that there are only a limited number of posters in this forum who are capable of getting outside their own ideology enough to fairly vote for who "won" the debate. And lots and lots who simply can't. Or won't. And a few who aren't even objective enough about their own bias and behavior to be capable of respecting the rules at all.

BINGO, for those who have been in "The Study" for a very LONG while,it never worked,even tho posters stated they wanted it.....I think the country is
to DIVIDED and that translates into deep division within the forums.....JMO

I'm a member of several other biker and 1%er forums and there is never a problem in the political threads there. Everyone gets along great and can disagree with civility.

I think you some of yoou are misssing the point. This is volutary and nobody has to participate of even read the thread. This is just more of an experiment to see who is ABLE to debate as an ADULT. Winners and losers don't really matter as much as being able to express your thoughts one on one without actig like immature kids. If you are not capable of such a feat, just move on. It's not like there would be any changes to the normal slamming and insults, it would only be in select threads. I just don't see the downside...and who knows, it may even be fun.

We have a few here on both sides that will devolve any discussion into a pissing match. Unless they are excluded, you will get the same old sh**.

Yup. The only way to see if we can do it is to try. If you don't like the idea, don't participate. If you lnow you jave a kneejerk reaction to a particular poster try to keep a rein on it.

I'm sure you are one of those who could easily have a conversation and express your opinion as if you were talking to another adult face to face.....am I wrong?

CB - yes - if I'm in the mood. That said - getting kind of fed up with political talk. It doesn't serve America that well. (ergo "red tie cult").
