Both are government reports, are they not? The point that I made earlier in this post and that Heartless made, is trusting in government reports, considering the influence of special interest groups, green technology groups, etc. like the Sierra club. Reports that I have seen state that the oil deposits in ANWR are huge, and the impact where drilling would occur, or pipelines would be, would basically only affect some caribou, not the fish and all the other critters mentioned. IMHO the interest of Americans who are held hostage to Middle Eastern Oil should come before, dare I say it, that of the critters.
All underground oil deposit quantities are unknown, drill and find out whats there. This is American oil that can create American jobs and be used by Americans only if so written and may carry us for a period of time until other sources or other energy types are found.

The DOE and USGS reports go back much farther than the current administration. Critters don't vote or pay taxes so somebody else has to speak for them.
And these reports that YOU have seen? Not funded or written by oil companies or subsidiaries are they? I trust those as much as you trust the ones I mentioned.
P.S. How is the wood business? I'm thinkin of placing an order... Send me a PM.
