Take a new law that sets in motion the concept that you can be compelled to purchase a product in the private market.
ADD.
Lobbyists that represent companies that really would rather just have to convince a few hundred people to compel millions to have to buy different products that to have to convince the people themselves.
ADD.
A population that want more and more public hand outs and restrictions (both sides) and certainly wants to keep the old ones we don't have the money for.
ADD.
All levels of US government strapped for money, but worried if they raise taxes they wont get re-elected.
ADD.
The fact that these same companies are the ones that program you on your wants and need via their news programs, sit come reality shows and ads.
AND WHAT DO YOU GET.
The only thing I can come up with is that just about every purchase and service you want will be mandated in this socialist method of forcing libertarianism on us via conservative conduit. The math shows a whole new economy. The math seems to say that your brain will be washed with the desire via the media to ask the govt to force others to buy stuff to reduce your burden. Also the formula results in any large business owners loving this, even if publically resisting it because they know that the stuff the poor will be forced to buy, they were buying 6 of anyway and they get to sell the poor or moderate income folks the new wiget they are required to buy cause the begged to be required to do it. The same people everyone wants to tax more will suck up your income as they sell your all the new crap most of you were buying yesterday with new mandated restricted features at a mandated increased price.
Please save this post for after the Supreme Court rules in favor of allowing mandated purchases. Screw health care, it will be small potatoes in 20 years when we look back at the supreme mess.
Why did D's push through a money grab for the business world at the expense of everyone. What I love is that the gun totin R's probably think the breifcase R's dont like this and secretly at home they are loving every bit of the new regs and working to figure out how to try this new marketing scheme in their industry. Rich R's using D minds to get Gun R's to beg to be regulated, you just wait, this is gonna be good if it is not shut down. Fun to watch for those of us that have a few decades left.
The hard part will be which channel to watch, the economy going down the tubes and coming out inside out or the environment doing the same. I will have to get one of those fancy new picture in picture TV's for the coming decades. Hopefully they will just mandate a new TV chip in my brain so it is easier to watch.
Do you really think that the R legislatures who represent larger companies like the Ds do too really don't want this health care thing to fly....if you do, you don't know what it feels like to sell something. I bet you have a job in someone else's firm if anyway. I bet everyone in gov is loving this new law. Think of all the people loving the increased power and additional begging from lobbyists.
Thoughts, issues, comments on spelling so that you don't have to address issues, party slurs to sound cool? If you guys would like, I could write your posts for you and save you time? Just egging you on with truths. Let's talk about our future economy and who you will have to beg from to not go to jail for evading your taxes by not buying enough apples in October.
See the thread on "Americans fleeing to Canada"... Canada has universal healthcare, and has had it for years. Their unemployment rate is about 2-1/2 points less than ours; their debt load is waaaay less than ours; their citizens are well taken care of and get health care when they need..(in spite of the few anecdotal stories the morons at FauxNews trot out whenever it's mentioned)... And yes the Canadians pay a bit more in taxes, but not a whole lot more, by the time you add in all the various forms of hidden taxation and fees that Americans are required to pay.
The constant wails of Armageddon (in the face of the truth that providing universal health care does not mean the end of anything--except big-pharma getting richer; for-profit hospitals and insurance companies getting richer--and people being healthier, and having access to healthcare) sound pretty silly in the face of empirical observation.

Let the wailing and moaning begin.
So in other words folks, don't bother posting a different opinion because if you disagree, you will just be "wailing and moaning". Thats a great way to start a conversation.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

:rofl rofllol The funniest part of your post is that you ACTUALLY believe what you just typed!! :rofl rofllol
And you guys focus on LJ's post, rather than posteryoyo's - what does that say?
Very good points posteryoyo - it is a vicious, subtle cycle. How to break it is the question - eliminating only one step in that circle will not get it done, IMO.

It just goes to show you SC how one post can instantly derail a thread with divisive language. And no, I didn't have to read her thread at all, but I just want to make a point about how easy it is to turn a good topic into a childish mud fest.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
I would humbly submit that we have more than enough examples of that [childish mud fests], let's improve already! I like your idea of the debate thread, and having better debate in the Courthouse altogether, all we can do is keep trying (it takes constant effort, which is even difficult for me at times). If I can find some more free time to research, I'll happily jump in too!
And if anyone wants to insult others, that's what the Ring is for.
