We made our weekly stop at the liquor store last night to purchase our favorite weekend beverage - Foster's Lager in bottles.

We were informed by the proprietor of the store that the distributor (Coors Distributors) will no longer be delivering Fosters in bottles because they have another brand that belongs to them and so do not want to foster (pardon the pun) competition. Seems that also holds true for a brand of hard lemonade.

If you have ever seen the movie "Beer Wars", the current system of breweries and "distributors" seems to me to be pretty bogus.

Just another example to me of how consumers are manipulated for corporate monetary gain.

Sorry - I just had to vent... :protest:

Sounds like an excellent opportunity to start a competing distribution company to supply what Coors will not.

I had the same problem, used to buy my favorite Breck Avalanche ale at one of the local places up here, they stopped carrying it, so I stopped going there. I asked why a few times, and they seemed indifferent, and didn't have an answer.

Our person was very apologetic - a very nice woman. I was just poking around looking for a email address for the distributor and couldn't find one. I guess I'll just do a BBB complaint.

If I knew enough about the business and was a little younger I'd probably think about that, nobody. But I fear that I'm too old to be sinking what little savings I have into a business venture. Besides, I don't have the political connections to make something like that go! Prohibition may be over but that's still a pretty slimy business!
