I watched her actually speak this BS. She neglects to say how much the community benefits from companies coming in and hiring people that may not have a job otherwise. Keep blaming revenue generators is the easiest thing to do.Wayn-O wrote:

I don't even have to read it, she must be right with that cute smile. No more cost benefit analysis.
Two scenarios. One in which you have industry with jobs, minimal police, minimal public roads, minimal schools, no min wage and osha. The other with no jobs, lots of police, roads, schools, high wages at safe jobs for the few that still have them.
Which world do you want to live in? In the first you might feel bad like society can do more, you can discuss this with your family over dinner. In the second you feel two things, you can feel how good it is that you have such a great and organized public infrastructure and you can also feel hunger.
Think about it all the police/roads in the world cannot make a demand for work or feed people. All the work in world can feed people and they will find a way to get around and keep the peace. That is natural, if you restrict just about every way to get ahead, no one will. People and culture keep the peace and make industry, not the police or the legislature.
Take Park County, a rural liberal community on roids. We spend just about anything requested on schools ($60 million plus some construction worker lives being spent in fairplay alone - including interest), on police, communication, jails, roads...you name it and we spend it. So when just about everything is done the way democrats, liberals or otherwise want it (these guys must be good to get around the republicans even with no democrats in office) and the economy absolutely sucks and no one sees it changing unless Denver or Breck start spilling their extra money over too, but their economy sucks too. Why is park county not a robust awesome place to live and why do folks not love their govt.? Or do people think this is the good life?
