I took a "Where are you politically?" test and tried to get others interested in taking it but the wingers wouldn't participate (probably because they knew it would show how extreme their views are).
It showed I was a Libertarian, which is not one the choices on here.
I vote the candidate, not the party but find the Democrat more in line with my thinking with the exception of: illegal immigration, gun control and capitol punishment.

Are you sure about that?! I'm betting at some point in your life, you've very definitely been a full-fledged Jackass member.
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

How do you feel you diverge from the politics of your party. (even if you are unaffiliated, if you consistently vote for the candidates of a particular party that would be the party you compare yourself to. )
Friends sort of consider me 'centerist' but recently they've all shifted toward revolutionist which seems to be a bit more fitting. I tend to disagree with both political factions in opt for newer solutions. Can't say I'm willing to start some sort of 'movement' or any crap like that simply because I just no longer give a damn, but my "radical" views of non-citizen extermination seem to get me labeled as revolutionist. I say whatever.....

No party affiliation. I vote for who is most likely to represent me well, or my vote is a protest vote against the worst of the available choices even if that means a write in vote.
I'm a Republican and for me party trumps person every time, Republicans are more likely to have the same views and values that I do and pass legislation that conforms to those values. At the same time I find myself drifting toward the Tea Party (many argue it's just a subset of the Republicans but I believe it is more than that), the RINOs are floating to the surface and I believe that we have too many career politicians who just want to prolong their own existence as elected officials not matter the cost or damage to the Nation and her citizens.
It is time to cut the size of the Government down, reduce Federal spending, and cut taxes. Fewer jobs would be outsourced to overseas locations if the economic environment in the US was more business friendly. More jobs would be created here and more US citizens would be employed and paying taxes. Every able bodied citizen ought to be working instead of laying about and waiting for their welfare checks, a stronger private sector will provide those jobs.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus
