SOS Gessler (Republican) sent an order to county clerks in Colorado that ballots not be mailed to military personnel who did not vote in 2010. What a crock!
Money saving idea? I am sure this will be opposed by his Republican colleagues who like to support the military and tend to vote Republican.
I could see it done to prevent people voting in more than one state. The military population is highly mobile. Florida and New York have this issue where snow birds will vote in both states.

Oh save us from a Secretary of State that follows the statute to mail ballots to each active registered elector instead of torturing a new interpretation of the words out of them so that they now mean whatever someone thinks they should mean as long as it serves their purpose.

And as usual you are once again wrong. The Colorado statute sets a minimum that active voters be sent mail in ballots. Federal law requires that deployed military personnel be sent ballots, thus Gessler is not only violating Colorado law but federal law as well. Why do you want to deny the rights of those military personnel saving our freedom to actually participate in voting?

The election this year is not a federal election Dog, but surely you already knew that. It is a state election, thus the application of state rules, not federal rules. If it were a federal election, then federal election rules would have to be followed.
State rules are that active registered electors must be sent mail ballots, not all registered electors.
As to your last sentence of hyperbole, no defense is needed because, as usual, you are trying to get someone to defend something you allege, not something that they said.

State rules are also permissive in allowing clerks to send ballots to inactive voters as well. The relevant statute does not limit the ballots only to active voters. Gessler did not carve out an exception to federal elections, but insists that the statute be followed from this day forward in all elections.
So you once again dodge the indefensible. You approved of the order by Gessler that ballots not be sent to deployed military personnel who did not vote in 2010, most likely because they were engaged in the exercise of defending your rights.
