Should Government Pay For Sex Change Operations?

I don't think goverment should pay for sex change surgery since it really doesn't change your sex. It doesn't turn you into a man or a woman. You are still XX or XY, just trying to fool others and yourself.

Sex change paid by NY taxpayer money? I believe a person should get a sex change operation after 80 years of psychological counseling.

What individual citizens choose to do with their bodies is none of my business, just don't ask tax payers to pay for individual choices that are outside medically necessary procedures.

That's an excellent rebuttal! It's amazing how much tax business travelers pay with little or no representation. Recently I travelled to NYC, the daily tax rate on hotel room was $ 71 per night <<<<<< That was daily tax rate. I stayed five nights ...total tax bill was $ 353. Four visits a year and I pay more taxes in NYC than most pay in Park County taxes.

Plus lodging taxes are taxation without representation. I used to live in this one town that wanted to start a lodging tax and I voted against it for that exact reason.

Good news to know about NYC. I have a cruise ending up there next year and I was planning to stay a few days in Manhattan but now I will stay in Jersey. (Why do I feel like VL just possessed my keyboard?)

I just skimmed it so I am not sure if it says who is paying.

LJ, this is but one instance where people pay income taxes in a state other than they reside in, pro sports. Athletes are taxed for money earned in each local they play in. I'm sure there are more instances as well.

The silent majority will be silent no more.

I would think that what is important in this is the precedent, not necessarily just the jurisdiction.

What I fail to understand is why such a consideration is even given for a criminal? I'd think that citizens of any state are generous to pay for criminals to have basic medical coverage. It does not seem that SRS is a basic medical condition. Aren't criminals locked up for a reason? I do not believe that reason is to get special treatment, certainly not elective surgery on tax payer's dime. The answer is no, no way. Talk about opening Pandora's box.

How convenient to "blame the president" in a case of a state exercising it's state's rights to do what it wants to do--when it's something you don't like; and "blame the president" for "da gub'mint interfering with the states" when it's something you DO like...

Dang, I just can't keep up with the level of hypocrisy... ?????

So LJ, I was looking to see who blamed the president and just can't seem to find that outrage you are outraged about. Did I miss something here?

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
