Roger that, I needed a new car (actually it's used car) as my other car is dying a slow death.

The other crazy tax is car insurance.....holy crap! I just added a teenager...and if you think taxes are a robbery...the insurance industry is robbing us too - and it's legal.

Teen insurance should be higher, unless you think those who don't have teenagers should subsdize those who do . Kinda has a health care comparison, don't you think?

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Perhaps if the OP were out of work and didn't have a car, he'd have less to whine about.

All states need money. If they don't get it one way they will get it another. There are no free rides.

On this one, you have my sympathies - when we moved into the state with two 2006 cars (in 2007) we got jacked for $1300 - partly for bringing the cars in rather than buying them here!

Even now - my daughter's car is a 1997 - and while the fee is not too high - I think it was $68 this year - she would pay half of that in Iowa.

I'm still paying approximately $300 per car for registration and its taxes.

As for teen insurance, my daughter is 22, licensed since 16, and never a ticket or accident or even a warning. Somehow, that should start to count for lower rates - but it doesn't. My son - we won't even discuss what his rates are; however, they will drop a great deal after he finishes basic.

Remember that all your sales taxes are deductible from your AGI, just keep the receipts. This may seem silly as you pay taxes on your food (besides the concept of paying taxes on food), but is practical when it comes to cars.

Many more things in your home or on your property are taxable, just call the assessors, they will make this clear. Most of you are dodging some local tax, don't think you are?...just call and ask.
