Presidential hopeful Herman Cain appeared on ‘The View.’ Co-host Joy Behar pressed him on his beliefs regarding homosexuality. The issue came down to genetic or natural causes. As you can imagine, the homosexual spin machine went into action denouncing Cain’s remarks. Here’s one example:
“Herman Cain ought to apologize for his misinformed remarks, which show that he harbors dangerously outdated beliefs about gay and lesbian Americans,” said Wayne Besen, Executive Director of Truth Wins Out. “The lie that homosexuality is a choice is directly responsible for the suffering of tens of thousands of LGBT people around the world who are falsely told that they can ‘pray away the gay.’”
This line of argument has been standard among those who claim that same-sex (homosexual) sex is innate.
Steve Simon, a state representative from Minnesota, gave a short speech against a constitutional ban of same-sex/same-gender “marriage.” In the four-minute video, Simon works calmly to argue for homosexual marriage. Here is one of his arguments:
“The scientific evidence shows more and more everyday that sexuality and sexual orientation are innate, something people are born with.”
Cain is a staunch opponent of gay marriage and believes that we Americans need to protect the sanctity of marriage as defined between one man and one woman. He does not support civil unions and would reinstate 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' which prohibits homosexuals from serving openly in the military.
I think Herman Cain is pretty clear on the fact that he would undo everything the homosexual community has achieved as they seek equality in this country.
Seems pretty straight forward thinking on Herman Cain's part. The Left can argue and complain but truly only the small minority of folks in this country actually believe it. The many that say they agree outwardly just don't want to be called homophobes.
Personally I'm glad he stands on what he believes whether or not it is the popular thing to say or do, instead of trying to be all things to all people.
If you remember back to California with Prop. 8, it was the African-American community that killed it.
Well, I was born attracted to women, so it stands to reason that a gay guy was born attracted to men. Over simplistic? Of course, but many here are very simple.
