Every company should have their token brainless politician on their board so that they can yank his leash when they need some influence in congress.

Can you give any specific examples of how Al Gore helped Jobs and the success of Apple? And referring to Gore as brilliant instead of Steve Jobs is pretty funny.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

To a mental dwarf, even a mental Lilliputian seems to be brilliant.

Let's see, two of the fastest growing companies in the US were Apple, Inc. and Google. What do these two companies have in common? Al Gore, who not only is on the board of directors of Apple as it has become the largest company in the US, has also been senior advisor to Google since 2001, while it has grown immensely.

Loves theories but is unable to put them into practical application - that's a brilliant mind alright. Explains why he is a very good politician though, doesn't it.

"Steve and his team have done an incredible job in making Apple once again the very best in the world," Gore said. "I have been particularly impressed with the new Mac OS X operating system and the company's commitment to the open-source movement. And I am especially looking forward to working with and learning from the great board members who have guided this legendary company's inspiring resurgence."

Hmmmmm - seems that Jobs and the BoD over at Apple returned the company to prominence without help from Gore at all......though I am sure he was of help with all of the legal battles that Apple has fought and launched since his addition to the BoD of Apple - particularly the federal anti-trust suits. I'm guessing that having a former VP on the board helps them negotiate their way through the web of federal bureaucracies. IIRC, and I'm pretty sure I do, Apple had already launched their iMac, the iPod, iBook, iTunes and most everything else that resuscitated Apple well before Gore came on board.

Are Al Gore's specific contributions to Apple's success some sort of secret, or can you find any information anywhere? Being on the board of directors does not automatically make you a needed asset that actually pays off...am I wrong dog?

Oh and good post PS...nice sources.
