Unconstitutional California?

Illegal immigrants can now apply for state-funded scholarships and aid at state universities after Gov. Jerry Brown announced Saturday that he has signed the second half of a legislative package focused on such students.
AB131 by Assemblyman Gil Cedillo, D-Los Angeles, is the second half of the California Dream Act. Brown signed the first half of the package in July, which approved private scholarships and loans for students who are illegal immigrants.
Under current law, illegal immigrant students who have graduated from a California high school and can prove they're on the path to legalize their immigration status can pay resident tuition rates. The bill would allow these students to apply for state aid.

How can an illegal - legally be in the United States to attend school? This California law contradicts Constitutional law on many levels.

Is this all that different from what Perry is doing in Texas for illegal immigrants?

The same idea was tried in this year Colorado, fortunately we have enough Republicans in the state House to over turn the bill: http://www.csindy.com/IndyBlog/archives/2011/04/26/house-republicans-shoot-down-bill-for-immigrant-kids

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

Extremely different. Read the facts......

http://rickperryreport.com/faq/rick-per ... -dream-act

In reality, we are talking a little less than 1,000 illegal alien students at the two flagship state universities in Texas!

And read the votes. Perry couldn't have vetoed it if he wanted to. Only 2-3 people voted against it each time. 27-3 and 130-2.

I'm not sure I take a Rick Perry web site as a source for "facts".

But Perry has defended it, do you agree with it? As for the differences, it seems to be a matter of degree, not fundamental differences.

I agree with Archer....just like I wouldn't take WhiteHouse.gov or the www.barackobama.com as a source for facts.

Isn't it just great, illegals in this country have more rights and can get more help than Americans. What part of illegal is hard to understand. If they did not come here with the proper paperwork in hand they have broken the laws of this country. There is no other way about it. It is simple. They broke the law so everyone wants to help them out.

The illegal immigration issue has ended Perry's chances for reelection to public office.
