Since I no longer have any business interests in the City- I secretly hope this one passes. I just want to see the stampede of businesses tripping over each other - trying to get out of the City limits as fast as possible.

It would just about guaranty no more jobs created in Denver - at least till the next election, in fact the City would lose thousands of jobs almost instantly.

Should be good news for commercial real estate in the surrounding area though!

Prop 300 might have some weird effects on jobs. Most businesses provide sick and PTO so they will stay in Denver but the sucky jobs like fast food and Wal-Mart will stay in the 'burbs. A ring of bad jobs around Denver?

Most bigger businesses have already left the City- the rest are probably planning to leave when their leases expire. Not a single fortune 500 company is located in the City limits anymore.

I wouldn't call those bad jobs- just because they don't provide health care. Many people are making a living with those jobs right now- many people need those jobs.

Yes there will be a ring around Denver, similar to the ring of a toilet bowl- but we all know where the crap really goes!

You know they will- which is why it's very important for every taxpayer to vote today. I'll be hand carrying my ballot to the drop box, this way I know it got that far at least.

Hard to tell if your vote was counted in a mail in election.

If the poll for this thread is any indication of the community as a whole- we taxpayers should be able to beat this tax increase. I sure hope so, because you know every teachers union member will be voting for it.

285 Bound is not a reflection of the state as a whole... so how can you suggest that a very small statistical sampling that is represented here can portend the outcome of this election. For a matter of fact, you're faulty logic may actually cause some people who would have gone out to vote against Proposition 103 to stay home, since you have presupposed that this will be beat. Good job.

I have a better idea folks. Go out and vote no matter what you think the outcome is going to be.

You must have missed my statement.....
"You know they will- which is why it's very important for every taxpayer to vote today."

Pretty much accomplishes the same thing. tongue:

And you must of missed my question... how do you explain this Pascal? "285 Bound is not a reflection of the state as a whole... so how can you suggest that a very small statistical sampling that is represented here can portend the outcome of this election. "

All I said was...

If the poll for this thread is any indication of the community as a whole

- it was not a pretension, as you incorrectly suggest- it was just an if, a supposition. :Loco:

But one can't ignore the facts- 14 people opposed and only 2 for the tax. Those opposed most certainly contain liberal posters- and that is an indication that all is not well in the Pro-103 camp.

No... a freshman in high school would understand that it's statistically meaningless. And what was your other statement... a threat? Is this the way you debate a point... with personal threats?

I don't think the poll here is meaningless. Many liberals don't think taxes need to be raised on the poor and middle class in an increased sales tax. Even Gov. Hickenlooper, a confirmed limousine liberal, think now is a bad time to raise taxes, and many people in his party agree.
Plus the other argument made here, everyone else had been cutting thier spending for the past few years, is it time for schools and universities to do the same?
