Good. As soon as a politician can come up with a bill that will guarantee that 90 percent of the money being asked for actually goes into THE CLASSROOM and not to the administrators and directors, then, and only then I may consider a "yes" vote.

about 130,000/3,600,000 (remove CO citz who cannot vote right now due to age discrimination).

That is a 4% real turnout. Not about the issue, but kinda weird that 4% of people decided for everyone. That means that 96% of the people in Colorado that could have had a say on taxes did not say anything at all, but people are protesting how we should deal with this stuff. Their numbers are smaller than I thought. I at least pictured a few young and available protesters at these rallies all over the nation, but then assume there are 1000's or 100,000's at home that may not go on the street but want to have influence and make a difference. Apparently not. Are people waiting to vote for the election where they just get to raise taxes on another group?

It is pretty clear that all this money stuff is hype and that people really don't care on the whole, at least not in CO. ??

Doesn't that mean that more people in CO have mmj cards than voted?

Thanks to all that did vote....or get their card for being part of our system.

Make no mistake about it- they will try agin, and again, and again, and again until they raise our taxes.....

After the bludgeoning that voters gave Proposition 103 on Tuesday, supporters of a long-term fix for the state's budget woes — along with proponents of tax increases across Colorado — were asking themselves, "What now?"

Proposition 103, which would have raised income and sales taxes to pour nearly $3 billion into education funding over five years, was defeated by an almost 2-to-1 ratio, a trouncing that came the same night many local tax issues also failed.

Supporters of the statewide ballot measure said it was never intended to be a permanent fix for the state's ongoing budget problems but would provide a tourniquet until the "Big Fix" comes. That so-called fix might be reconciling conflicting constitutional
provisions they say hamstring the state budget, increasing taxes or both.

And it's obivious that Ms. Hedges hasn't got a clue, "it's wrong to assume voters were sending a message that they are absolutely against tax increases" oh yea? Just what message does she think was being sent- when Colorado voters turned down the increase 2:1?
Yea Ms. Hedges - the voters didn't think the tax increase was big enough- sheesh!

Carol Hedges, director of the Colorado Fiscal Policy Center, a liberal policy group closely involved in the effort behind 103, said it's wrong to assume voters were sending a message that they are absolutely against tax increases.

Some voters didn't think 103 was big enough or didn't like that it was only temporary, Hedges said. Some disliked that the measure didn't reinstate a graduated income tax.

"I think the message is that you have to keep trying," said Hedges, who added, "I hope all the people who didn't support 103 because they wanted the Big Fix are committed to holding people accountable to make sure that Big Fix comes through, because our state is at risk if we don't."

"I think the message is that you have to keep trying," she says- I got a message for her too- we voters have to keep on top of this- the war goes on and on for our money. We must be eternally vigilant as taxpayers, and vehemently fight back against even bigger government!

We taxpayers just saved ourselves 3 Billion dollars by voting down 103- that's 3 Billion dollars that keeps helping struggling families, those out of work, and local businesses to hire and expand - instead of 3 billion more dollars in the hands of local government.
