Dr. Pepper Introduces Diet Soda "Just For Men"

11 Oct 2011 20:35 #1 by CinnamonGirl
The new Dr. Pepper 10 soda says that unlike "girly" diet sodas, this one is for dudes. Regular Dr. Pepper has 150 calories and 27g of sugar. Diet Dr. Pepper has zero calories and zero sugar. Dr. Pepper Ten has 10 calories, 2g of sugar, and promising to provide the same "23 flavors" as original Dr. Pepper. Also, Dr. Pepper Ten comes wrapped in "gunmetal gray" and has four bullets on the label.

Really?????????????

Interesting marketing strategy. How much you want to bet there is a surge of women that rush out and buy this stuff strictly on the premise that they are not supposed to have it or consume it? Then again some folks will be offended and maybe even boycott Pepsi all together. I'm guessing that Pepsi did some market research beforehand and they are betting that this will be good for business.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Is soda really gender related?

No but how any product is marketed can be, there are plenty of examples of products that are marketed directly to their most likely consumers. How are car parts marketed versus hair care products?

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

I have had it and it isn't bad. But nothing much better than the regular diet.

How about this, it is called "diet" pop in America, but in Europe, they usually call it "light" instead. Like we do with beer. Guess the Euros would prefer not to be reminded they are on a diet, just like men don't want to be reminded they are drinking diet, light beer.

I think you mean soda, a pop is what you get from your pappy when you did something wrong (sorry, hangover from a long running debate between me and my sister in law who hails from the lower half of Michigan, don't get me started on the cousin from Jersey that refers to every soft drink as a "coke").

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Get me a orange Coke."

Soda Pop?

I called it pop when I was a kid but now I usually call it soda.
