WAIT until the economy recovers....

For years the Democrats have been touting Clinton as some sort of economic genius because of how well his policies worked and the great economy that resulted (until the dot.com bubble burst).

For once I agree with Clinton's common sense....does Obama know better?

“Should you raise taxes on anybody right today — rich or poor or middle class? No, because there’s no growth in the economy,” Clinton said on the “Late Show.” “Should those of us who make more money and are in better position to contribute to America’s public needs and getting this deficit under control pay a higher tax rate when the economy recovers? Yes, that’s what I think

I'm fine with raising some taxes if that's the only way to stop the whining, but give the private sector a chance to grow again before adding more burdens to businesses.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Raising "some" taxes just mucks up the tax code some more. There is no clear visibility anymore about who really pays what. They just raise the rates and then pile on more deductions and loopholes. Reform the whole damn thing and simplify, just like Obama's commission recommended. Everyone knows this, yet it will never happen.

If you want to be, press one. If you want not to be, press 2

Republicans are red, democrats are blue, neither of them, gives a flip about you.

I agree the entire tax system needs to be dumped but it will never happen. The Dems will continue to fuel class warfare as a way to get votes so the sheep need to be satisfied at some point even if it does absolutelly nothing to lower the debt or to create jobs.

Wow...I was about to post the same thing, only I think it is the Republicans trying to cling to the current class divisions that keep is from revising the tax code.

I think they should use the homeland security sniffing system which monitors phone calls, emails etc to automatically increase the taxes of anyone who mentions in an email, phone call, news conference, etc that they should pay more taxes, since they are wealthy. I think this would really help out the system!

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

Are you serious? The only people I hear talking about real tax reform (flat tax, consumption tax, eliminating loopholes, etc) are the people on the right including the current crop of GOP candidates and most of the right leaning talk show hosts.

The vast majority of what I've heard from the left is simply 'tax the wealthy', which is absolutely pointless until the tax codes are changed.

Yes and all you hear the left talking about are ways to continue with the massive government they have created. All you hear about are ways to fleece more money away from the economy and divert it for government.

It all has to be scaled back to the level that the economy can actually support- and the only people talking about addressing the defecit spending and cutting regulations and burdens on individuals and businesses are the conservatives.

Leave it to the liberals - and the problem of massive government spending and bad policies that has our economy stagnant will never be addressed and it will never end- ever. In fact it will only get worse.

How bad does it need to get before the left understands this?

I agree...show me this group of Dems that want the tax code revamped. Just raising the rate on the upper end is not going to change the horrible system.

It's right in front of you... 9-9-9. Yes, I agree there must be some adjustments, but I want to pay 9% in withholding instead the 15% I'm paying NOW!!!., Don't let Congress mess with it (unless of time of war), and, Yes, Some states do not have a State Tax, well right make at the leftists, "Why shouldn't everybody pay they're "SHARE"? Beside the No state tax folks, paid HIGH TAXES on land, food, and anything else that the state government can fine.
Sorry, can't continue, blood levels frecking out, can't think stright.... Later.
