Netanyahu did what any and every Israeli leader has done repeatedly, because it as a law from the Bible. One Israeli soldier for over 1,000 prisoners, not a smart decision but one that follows the word of the God of Israel.

"Not a smart decision but one that follows the word of God"? Sounds as if you're calling God stupid. Wow, you have a higher opinion of yourself than I thought...
You try to twist everything, don't you Monkeypoop? I would never feel like I knew better than my God. I said stupid because you stated that Cain couldn't be a leader because of what he had said. I think Netanyahu is a great leader, sorry I can't say that about Barry.
Here, so you can understand why the Israelis would trade one for over a thousand prisoners.
Gilad Shalit and the Sea Turtle
The controversial exchange highlights one extreme difference: Israel values life.
by Rabbi Ken Spiro
A couple of years ago I remember seeing an incredible contrast on YouTube. A very large and very old leatherback sea turtle (which is on the endangered species list) had been caught in a fisherman’s net off the coast of Gaza. The beautiful creature was hauled ashore and surrounded by a large crowd of Gazans. One of the men in the crowd explained to the reporter how the meat of the turtle would feed Gazan children, who were suffering due to the Israeli occupation, and the blood would help cure various ailments. The turtle was dragged behind a truck, flipped on its back and then slaughtered.
Further up the Mediterranean coast in Israel, a much younger and smaller sea turtle had been injured by a boat and lost one of its limbs. The turtle was rescued by some Israelis and then taken to a special turtle sanctuary where it was operated on, nurtured back to health and then released back into the sea.
Maybe you should read the story in the Bible about Abraham and his son Isaac. You might learn from that. But then again you probably will come up with an argument instead of understanding the lesson.
So, to answer the question in the OP: No, he's not the next Ronald Reagan. But it's funny how that one article is being posted all over the Internet by people who wish that he was.
I don't need a dusty old text to teach me a lesson about how one soldier is valued above many civilians who could be killed because of the release of prisoners from Gitmo. If you believe that, then you are an idiot. BTW, what's with all of the posterior and fecal matter references that you keep throwing out there? I'm going to start calling you Dirty Sanchez.
Today on CNN, host Wolf Blitzer asked now-GOP frontrunner Herman Cain — who’s not exactly a student of foreign policy — if he thought Netanyahu made the right choice. While Cain said he doesn’t know all the facts of the case, he said, “On the surface, you would say ‘one for hundreds, doesn’t make any sense.’” Blitzer then asked if he’d make a similar deal if he were president, and Cain said he would:
BLITZER: Could you imagine if you were president…and there were one American soldier who had been held for years and the demand was al Qaeda or some other terrorist group, “You got to free everyone at Guantanamo Bay” – several hundred prisoners at Guantanamo. Could you see yourself as president authorizing that kind of transfer?
CAIN: I could see myself authorizing that kind of transfer but what I would do is I would make sure that I got all of the information. I got all of the input, considered all of the options. And then, the president has to be the president and make a judgment call. I can make that call if I had to.
Here I thought that the Republicans were supposed to be the ones that are hard on terrorists. This guy's an idiot! How many servicemen died to put those prisoners in Gitmo? He would throw away their sacrifice for a single soldier? He's simply not fit to be a leader.
Really? I don't agree with Netanyahu's decision, but I don't reject him or Cain's opinion out of hand.
Would you have done more to free our MIA's and POW's after the Vietnam war? I don't know what needed to be done to free more of our prisoners but I think it was a real shame that Kissinger abandoned them.
Back on topic:
I think Cain is like Reagan in a number of ways, he is not the darling of the mainline Republicans, he does seem to be more of a maverick, and the Left likes to characterize him as a simpleton.
And Obama Vs. Cain looks a lot like Reagan Vs. Carter.
1) Crumbling economy under a Dem President.
2) Republicans quickly winning back power after being left for dead, Nixon & "W".
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
