Evidently Cain said that while he personally opposes abortion he believes it should not be any of the governments business.

Kaplis of Kaplis and Silverman believes that will cost him any chance at the r nomination. I will be interested in seeing if he is correct.

I think it would gain him votes it the general election should he become the nominee.

Snark, like 99% of the posts on here. I meant it to show just coming up with an economic plan is not all there is to running for president.

I like Cain in general, he was a wealth of business experience and isn't afraid to speak his mind. In this case I have to wonder if he let his campaign managers talk him into to saying something he doesn't believe in or if he really thinks that the public would buy a wishy-washy answer to a tough question. Either way his stated position on abortion gives me the appearance that he is trying to run down the middle of the fence on this issue, he says he's against it but will let his principals go by the wayside if it brings the swing vote to his side.

Reminds me of John "Swifty" Kerry who was for the war in Iraq before he was against it...

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus
