Do the audiences at the GOP debates reflect the party?

What has struck me are the cheers/applause from the audience for the following:

1. Cheering the lead-in to a question to Rick Perry about him having executed more prisoners than any other governor
2. The"Let him die" comment from the audience regarding someone that is sick without health insurance
3. The audience booing the soldier that was asking a question because he was gay
4. Cheering the comment by Cain about if you are out of work or not rich, blame yourself

Do these audiences and their responses represent how the general member of the GOP feels about these topics?

Unfortunately, I think this is the Rep. base, I also think the Dem. base is out of touch.
Somehow we need to stop being fans and be citizens again. Winning is less important to me than having a functional political process.
I have just about given up. The wing nuts may win while losing.

A few morons in a crowd does not equal an entire voter base. If that was true, I could say the OWS crowd was mostly commies and anarchists.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

that is why I am asking instead of assuming... do the conservatives here agree with the audiences?
