Really? I must have missed that. I thought most of the hijackers were Saudis. The Country of Afghanistan might have harbored the training camps they were trained in but that is it.

Wrong enemy again. The Taliban did not attack us. Al Quaida did. Since we have suposedly routed them (Al Quaida) out of Afghanistan we are now attacking THEM in Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, etc.. But now the Taliban and the Afgan locals want us out so let's get out. Karzai just said yesterday that he would side with Pakistan if threatened by the US. Where's the loyalty in that and what the heck are we doing there?

Al Quaida could not have existed in Afghanistan without their butt buddies - the Taliban. It's also looking like Pakistan are also butt buddies with Al Quaida. The news I get everyday paints Pakistan as our enemy- not our friend.
I'd like to see us start to drop bombs in Pakistan too- maybe accidently drop a few on the Pakistani government - big ones.
Instead we give them our money so they can use it to arm our emenies.
Gaddafi was nothing but a pawn to whoever had the best price. Yes he gave intel to the US but also to those that would do our soldiers harm.
I think the relationship we had with Gaddafi was much stronger than most American people think= condoleezza rice and Hillary have been there many times in the last years. Many US CIA and diplomats routinely visited Lybia and attended Gaddafi family parties and weddings etc.
US Secretary HIllary Clinton sanctioned the murder of Col. Gaddafi. Be careful who you shake hands with.
Was Gaddafi an A-hole? Yes he was but he was a smaller A-hole than many others out there. Iran and Syria routinely fund covert activities against the US and I don't think Gaddafi was doing that at all anymore.

And just so you know, our view of the Muslim brotherhood is severely distorted by western propaganda. My discussion a last week with an Arab friend revealed that the Muslim brotherhood is actually a collection of intellectuals more inclined for relaxation of Islamc tenants than tightening them along the lines of the Taliban.
Lets see how true this statement really is...
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

I agree with you Wayne. When such decisions are made for political reasons, the results usually are not all that wonderful.

And that is usually the way it works. The French uprising resulted in executions, as did the ones in Russia, China, Cuba, Mexico, and numerous locations in Africa. That is the usual course of things once tyranny of the majority takes hold - a bloodbath.
Yup.

Some women in Turkey wear a head scarf when they go outside...a lot of the younger women do not wear any head covering, nor is it required. Furthermore, wearing of anything covering their whole bodies (like the burka), I believe, has been outlawed if you are a Turkish woman. When I was there in the early '90's I rarely saw women with scarves, except when the weather was bad.
What seems to be lost on the right is that if Reagan's air strikes on Gaddafi had been successful he would have been eliminated a long time ago and we would have gone through this back then.
Of course he was bombing Libya because they were behind a nightclub bombing in West Berlin.
