Obama really does believe he is above the law

No, he wasn't kidding...

Transparency promotes accountability and provides information for citizens about what their Government is doing. Information maintained by the Federal Government is a national asset. My Administration will take appropriate action, consistent with law and policy, to disclose information rapidly in forms that the public can readily find and use. Executive departments and agencies should harness new technologies to put information about their operations and decisions online and readily available to the public. Executive departments and agencies should also solicit public feedback to identify information of greatest use to the public.

I'll be interested to see where we are a year from now, IMHO Barry is going to need to pull a dozen or more miracles out of his posterior to even have a chance of getting re-elected between now and then. Four more years of tax and spend is not what the nation needs, let's elect someone who will deliver a smaller government, responsible spending, creating an environment that attracts business and creates jobs in the US!

Nope... that's the standard politicians modus operandi. Every politician in Washington DC, in state capitals, in city and country seats of governments have become beholden to feeding at the public trough. The Obama administration whips up some class warfare, the Occupy Wall Street movement complains about the artificially designated 1% class, Michael Moore tries to sub-divide the 1% into the New Styled Capitalism and the Old Styled Capitalism (of course, he made his 100 million working with in the Old Styled Capitalism system, which I gather in his mind is good. Old good, New bad).

These are all carefully crafted diversions from the real truth, to divert our gaze from the real problem... the political class. That's it, there's classes alright, but it's simply them against us. Political parties are partisan window dressing to keep us busy, busy chasing partisan phantoms while they whittle away our tax payers money. All of Washington, and the cadres of politicians prancing in and out of that city has become our version of Versailles. Top heavy with elite plutocrats and kleptocrats, men and woman who have never had to work a real job for a single day of their lives.

Like the "royalty" who roamed aimlessly in the halls of Versailles, actually sh*tting on the floor when the urge hit, most of our politicians use the halls of popular media to sh*t on us every Sunday morning, both right and left, boldface lying, bleating out of touch pronouncements and clueless platitudes. And who's fault is it? It's our fault. In the case of Versailles, those pouty M. et Mme escaped to Versailles to hide from the citizens. In our wonderful wisdom, we have propped them up in Washington and at times are actually proud of our little circus.

Importance and over-importance are two different things. Our politicians have totally lost sight of what is important and have let their own over-importance become job one. You want to know who is above the law... check with any politician who has a "D" a "R" or an "I" after their names.

I think that sums it up pretty eloquently. Short of a revolution, can you conceive of a way to clean house? Perhaps, just like the epic march on Versailles, we should let the women march on Washington to clean house.

That's where I am in a quandary. I don't support a revolution, but I can't think of any other way this all shakes out. And past history speaks to this kind of cycle. Revolution, stable government, kleptocrats/plutocrats/oligarchy, revolution... it's a vicious circle that has happened over and over. And who usually fares best right through these cycles... the same people the revolution is trying to eliminate. When you have enough power and money, you can weather any storm, make some adjustments so you temporarily become more acceptable to the revolutionaries and then you slowly consolidate new power and new money and it starts all over again. Meanwhile, the general population takes the hits.

That's why I decided about 7-8 years ago to "pull in the wagons." I take care of myself and my family. I'm a professional but I have no problem, and have had no problem, working any sort of job as long as I am paying the bills and feel like I am carrying my share. One year I'm making 40 dollars an hour and another year I'm making retail wages. I don't trust any politician, but just so I "feel" like I am participating in the process, I vote issue, not party. This enables me to attach my support to an idea, not to a crooked politician. Most important I give to my community, I personally decide who really needs help and I get involved. I don't let a government program or some high-profile charity tell me what to do with my charitable funds. I don't cheat anyone, I'm honest to a flaw and I have real friends.

That's all I can do. I'm not optimistic we can change anything on a world wide scale. The world out there does not belong to us. We can tiptoe through it occasionally, take a vacation, enjoy the art, the sights, the sounds... but we cannot own it or control it. I say keep your own house clean.. and feel good about yourself. It's not the final answer I suppose, but it's my answer.

Waiting for Armageddon since 33 AD
