I will give Romney one. I still think he has the best chance at defeating Obama, but it would not be a strong Conservative agenda at all.
Face the facts, you nominate your guy ,you lose. Nominate the phony and you may win. Just for the record I am not a Dem, I have voted my interests and sometimes it is R ,sometimes D. Viking you are a fan not a thinking citizen. Your endorsement is worthless.

I just posted why I support him. I am still waiting to see why others support other candidates. I am interested to hear from them.
Huntsman:
I like Huntsman because he has both business and the political experience of running a state. I also think by serving as ambassador in Asia, the up and coming continent, he will be more in tune with the current century.
I also believe he will be less beholden to special interests because he has already made his money.

Out of the current field I think Cain has the best chance of winning. Now that he has shown that a non-traditional campaign can work there might be time for someone else to throw their hat in the contest.

Agree, and he may actually win. We know the wingers won't nominate him because they want to be martyred losers. It allows them to whine and wail, which is all they really want to do.
I do worry Huntsman might not have the fire or be willing to put up with all the modern BS you need to go through to be elected president.
Hopefully he raises his profile in the Iowa caucus and gets enough momentum to win or show in New Hampshire.

archer wrote: Why do I support Obama in 2012? Simple, at his worst I still think he is light years better than what the Republicans are offering. I am genuinely concerned that the Tea Party extremists have hijacked the GOP and any Republican president will cater to them. I at least know with Obama that he will veto anything that puts Medicare or SS in jeopardy, or tries to repeal Obamacare, or gives huge breaks to the wealthy and corps at the expense of our middle class.
Simple...Obama is the only one running who can keep the Tea Party from running amok.
Archer, so are you perfectly content to have another 4 yrs exactly like this last 3?
I don't know who I support yet....Newt has the best ideas to move us forward, but I don't know if he can win. Of course I'd rather lose with Newt than win with Romney.
Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!
Still too early to put my full support behind any of these candidates. I think that Romney - is just another big government RINO- he's a John Mc Cain clone if there ever was one. He's also on record supporting socialized health care and gun control. Not a conservative.
In terms of who's policy would be best for the country and create an environment where America thrives again- my first pick would be Ron Paul. He would push to end the corruption in government- end the printing and devaluation of the dollar- end the IRS- and cut the size of government at all levels, this needs to be done now and if it is not done we are looking at more hard years ahead. This man can not be bought with money and influenced like a Romney or Perry.
My second pick would be Herman Cain- his policy would be conservative- fight for smaller government and reform the tax code. He could fight effectively against the welfare state- here's a man who knows what it's like at the bottom and at the top. The only dirt anyone can find on him is a frame up job from nasty women he has hit on. So what! I hit on women too, most real men have.
After #1 Ron Paul and #2 Herman "the womanizer" Cain, I would pick Newt for #3 best for the country- and then maybe Perry for #4. What I do know is that another RINO would just about ruin this country, and we desperately need a real conservative with real conservative policy to run this country.
We are all screwed if we fail to elect a real conservative.
It has been interesting to see the bounce on Newt. His daughter is campaigning for him right now declaring many of the old stories about Gingrich are incorrect.
