I am sad to report that we lost a huge battle in Ohio today. Obama's Democratic machine and the union bosses out hustled and beat us in the referendum on SB 5, the common sense and money saving legislation that the Ohio legislature and governor passed. The unions were successful in convincing Ohio voters that SB 5 should be repealed thus reinstating their right to collective bargaining.
This was a major blow to conservative governance and to breaking the stranglehold that public employee unions have on the state budgets.
We cannot let this happen to us again in Wisconsin. The stakes are higher and if we are not prepared to fight and learn nothing from Ohio, it will be our own fault. The unions have shown us the intensity and amount of money that they are will to pour into these fights. We are going to have to match it, or fall victim to them again.
