How do we know he does? Is it in his notes?

Perry has done poorly in every debate. And tonight was really embarassing for him. If it was a one time thing, nothing major and just a youtube video for the opposition. But it just keeps happening. They even came back to him and he still couldn't figure it out. He only needed to remember 3 programs he wants to eliminate. Hardly rocket science.

Which is more than Bachmann, who still thinks the Founding Fathers "worked tirelessly to end slavery."

The 8 Stooges are always entertaining.. Thanks... rofllol

I noticed Cain has a new nickname on some national forums: Herman "Hold the Sausage" Cain.

Asked point-blank what he would do as president during such a crisis (as Italy's), Herman Cain's first answer was a bizarre non sequitur. His response, he said, would be to...create jobs. Pressed by the host, Maria Bartiromo, as to how specifically he would react as president to the Italian crisis, he punted. "There's not a lot the US can do for Italy right now," he said. "They've gone beyond the point where we can help them." (That's news to Europe.)

It's an odd answer not just because Cain has had three weeks to prepare for the debate, but because his biggest liability—other than that whole harassment thing—is that he never offers any specifics about anything. Italy would have been a good chance to demonstrate that, if nothing else, he read the newspaper this morning.

Italy is the biggest story in the world right now. Italy is basically Greece on steroids, since Italy is something like six times bigger than Greece. The eurozone deal announced a couple of weeks ago might have been big enough to handle a Greek collapse—though even that's not a sure thing—but it's not even close to being big enough to handle an Italian collapse.

One thing that's strange to me is that very few Republicans seem to watch the debates, or at least comment on them here.

I'm an independent. I don't plan to vote for Obama. I'm just looking for an alternative.

So what do you Republicans suggest?

Does this finally put an end to Perry's campaign?

Perry collapses. Cannot remember a list of three federal government departments he wants to abolish past the first two. Seriously. And then he says "oops." He has all but disappeared inside his suit in this debate and is now basically done," conservative blogger Andrew Sullivan tweeted.

Personally, I think the reason is they are embarrassed by the candidates and have nothing to say.

I'm interested to hear The Viking's spin on Rick Perry's campaign-ending gaffe.

Romney's going to be the candidate. Not my first choice, but we could do worse. I think he brings more to the table than Obama.

Rick Perry's campaign ends just like this, before our very eyes...

It’s hard to overstate how badly damaged Rick Perry is after the debate, one in which he overall performed more or less well -- save for about 50 seconds.

That was how long it took the Texas governor to concede he couldn’t recall the third federal agency he’d eliminate as president.

In what at first seemed like light-hearted self-parody, Perry grasped desperately for agency names: “Commerce, Education and the uh…..the third agency of government I would do away with… Education, the, uh, Commerce, and…I can’t. The third one, I can’t. Sorry. Oops.”

Moderator John Harwood interjected at one point with, “Seriously?

Perry is history.

Cain is history.

Bachmann is history.

Santorum is history.

Huntsman is sane, but that means he's history.

Newt might rise a couple of points, but every time he opens his mouth with that tiresome "attack the media" schtick, he loses. He's a one-trick pony. He's history.

Ron Paul will ALWAYS stay at 10-12%. Loyal followers, but no traction.

Guys, meet your nominee... <drum roll> ... Mitt Romney... (Like, this is a surprise... We've been saying this for a year.) Every few weeks a new not-Romney whack-a-mole pops up for a look/see, and then you shine a light on them and they go back underground. Nope... Romney's it. Deal with it.

It would be interesting to see a debate between Obama and Perry....make it be in a room where they can't have teleprompters, notes, or anything. If you beeped out the "uh's" and "um's", you would have a constant BEEEEEEEEEEEEEP.

That is the problem with our current pres, and some of the rep candidates. They don't actually know...they just have people to tell them. Newt is looking better every day.....

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!
