Group Organizing Walker Recall Effort Gets Cyberattacked

Just hours before the official start of the drive to recall Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker from office, the group spearheading the effort said that its website was the victim of a cyberattack on Monday.

United Wisconsin, the group working with the Wisconsin Democratic Party in the effort to recall Walker, said Monday evening that its website went down at about 2 p.m. The site was back online about six hours later.

"Early this afternoon, United Wisconsin's website http://www.unitedwisconsin.com, was the victim of a cyber attack. Our web team reports that this attack was coordinated and deliberate its target," the organization said in a statement. The FBI and the Wisconsin attorney general's office has been asked to investigate, the group said.

"Clearly, this was done to deny the people of Wisconsin access to the materials we are providing for the Walker recall efforts. The attack, what is known as a Distributed Denial of Service Attack, flooded our servers at approximately 2 p.m. At this time the source of this attack is not fully known.

I certainly wouldn't want you seated on any jury I was working with. What did you do in a previous life, head up Stalin's Justice Department?

I can just hear LJ now... "I'd fry his ass even if he wasn't a Republican. His politics just make me smile while I do it."

If you aren't cheating, you aren't trying.

Possibly the Dems had one of their buddies do the cyberattack just so they have an excuse when this recall goes bust?

Why, of course they would... They would have one of their own attack the site that's used to get the recall materials out to their supporters just for the sake of a news story...

Uh-huh....

I just love that web site! I check it about 10 times a day.

I was so depressed Monday afternoon when I couldn't get on it. Ruined my day...

That is quite a stretch to assume.

"Clearly, this was done to deny the people of Wisconsin access to the materials we are providing for the Walker recall efforts.

All sorts of websites are hacked every day for all kinds of reasons.

Well according to Lefties here, Republicans are too moronic to know how to hack a website. Heck, we are still trying to figure out AOL, right?

You don't need to know what you're doing to hack a site. There are plenty of so-called "script kiddies." Nothing out of the ordinary.

Apparently the Occupiers don't have a clue then because they failed in their threat to shut down Facebook and Fox News.

Now they want to shut down the Iowa caucus...
