With winter looming, labor unions fortify Occupy camps

Some of the country’s most powerful unions are providing the infrastructure and amenities to keep the Occupy D.C. encampment fortified going into the winter.

The camp’s portable toilets are being provided by the Service Employees International Union, the 2.1-million-member organization that helped Barack Obama win the presidency and recently backed his re-election bid.

The estimated 100 demonstrators staying each night in McPherson Square, just blocks from the White House, can take a hot shower at the AFL-CIO headquarters on 16th Street Northwest

Good... If it serves no other purpose than to drive the teabaggers nuts, and keep the issues in front of the news organizations, I think it's great.

Good... If it serves no other purpose than I get to laugh at the nuts, and it keeps the clowns in front of the news organizations, I think it's great winter entertainment.

Works for me. I could use a little more contract work. If these lazy bastards are not interested in work, I sure can use some more.

Careful, you may be required to join a Union to get those jobs.

Wink all you want idiot. I have belonged to unions and I have no problems with a union as long as it spends it time acting like a union and not a bank account for politicians. Union have been useful. And some unions have been a bed of criminals. It goes both ways. And if unions want to waste their time supporting the Occupy movement, a poor excuse for a grass roots effective organization, then they will have to take the part of the responsibility as these jerks go south.
