Most people really do not have a clue about Israel and Palestine. And even those who do, most of them do not have any idea of the TRUE history of Israel and it's persecution. Here are the facts going back to over 1000 BC.
G-d is not a god of geography --- He doesn't favor one people group over another.
He doesn't care if you're from Samaria or Jerusalem.
If your eschatology trumps the literal (and clear) words of Jesus - you might want to think twice about your eschatology.
The wildly speculative focus on so-called "Bible prophecy" is dubious, and frankly anti-ethical to the black and white words of Christ (the central character if the Bible). Jesus spoke more highly of the Samaritans than he did many Jews!
I'm damn tired of self-anointed "Christian experts" on the middle east. I'm tired of their claims about "real truth." It's bunk. While they have visited Israel, they haven't lived in the region, and haven't met the people of the region. Even Israelis give some credence to the principle of negotiation with Palestine. (read Haaretz - one of the most widely circulated newspapers in Israel).
Palestinians are real, live people - who deserve to be recognized, and given fundamental human rights.
I have very little patience with the continued pseudo-Christian endorsement of a blatantly racist country - one who endorses settlements on other people's land - one who attempts to muzzle legitimate international human rights organizations - one that builds walls that deny people of the wrong race the right to even go to the hospital to have a baby.
My information doesn't come from antisemitic sources:
- Association for Civil Rights in Israel (an Israeli organization, with an Israeli URL)
- Haaretz Newspaper (an Israeli newspaper - with daily editorials on this topic)
- World Vision (a Christian organization, which notes that Israeli policies have destroyed Gaza's economy the last decade)
There is no basis - political - spiritual - or rational -- for uncritical support of Israel. I'm not playing along.
As one who is passionate of World History, I will simply say "Yep, definitely got a clue,.... have for a long time and yet definitely don't care!".
If YOU want something, YOU had better be prepared to fight for it. So my ancestors had believed.
You know Viking.... How would YOU feel if I named myself 'Jesus' in this forum, and attacked Christian ideology? Would that get under your skin just a little bit? Well that's exactly what's happening you ignorant f@ck. You're attacking MY heritage, MY history, and praising an ideology under a name, that the name does NOT coincide with. Many of my ancestors stopped being 'vikings' when they were politically forced to convert to a system of which was alien to them, and yet ironically the whole system was converted in so many ways...
But back on topic. To conquer a people is not an archaic, barbaric, idea at all.... its very much alive and well, yet unfortunately the voice of "the conquered" has NEVER been louder in any other time. Hence all the politically correct b.s. that occurs on a daily basis. So thusly on a personal level, I have ZERO compassion for the ongoing conflict that is Palestinian/Israeli... it does not concern myself, an American, and a minority, someone who understands and values the ideology of conquering, for one's OWN. Neither are American, the land I live, the land I've pledged allegiance to. Neither mean a damn to me, and if I saw a way to dominate them both, I would do so simply to prove a point and further the morale of the like minded.
