Huntsman just painted a target on his back

I find these ideas by Huntsman to be very interesting...

He offered three suggestions for tackling congressional gridlock: limit the terms a member may serve; institute a lifetime ban preventing a former member from lobbying; and tie members' pay to their output.

"I want to cut the pay of members of Congress until they can balance the damn budget," he said, citing a "corrosive" lack of trust in Congress.

The Political Class will see to it that Huntsman and his ideas never get near Washington DC. He should know better than that. He just put a target on his own back with the words... "Keep me out of the White House." Too bad... I like all of his suggestions... how about you?

tie members' pay to their output

HORRIBLE idea --- output of what????? You think the CFR is big now? Imagine what that rule would do!

lifetime ban preventing a former member from lobbying

Won't get any PAC funds with that one!

limit the terms a member may serve

Talk about it (everyone does) --- that's fine --- just don't try to codify it --- EVER

Hate to say it but Perry's ideas on making congress part time like in Texas, which has worked great. cutting pay in half and term limits is better. And a lot more on that too but running out the door again.

I'll repeat myself here... just for your sake.

It's not impossible at all for Perry to get the nomination... all the other candidates would have to die first, including No Opinion... but that's still a possibility.

I don't think a anti-Congress campaign will hurt Huntsman. I expect Obama and even other Congressmen to campaign against the current "do nothing" legislature.
