Do you think it would be extremely classless if Jews were told not to include their Hanukkah symbols at a display like this?

I don't think there would be a problem at all. The difference being that this Athiest group is saying "you are wrong, and we are right" to all religions.....big difference than just including other beliefs. And as I said, they ay able to do it legally, but it's just being done as a bitter angry act and does nothing but create more of a divide...as if we need more of that in this country. Classless.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

And the difference between the religions saying "we are right and you are wrong" to the atheists and the Jews is........?

So, to extend this postulate (bolded above), aren't the Jews effectively saying that the Christians are wrong and they're right? After all, the Jews don't believe that Jesus is a deity.

Er... no. What does Hanukkah, it's story and symbolism have to do with Jesus? Hanukkah is a religious celebration that takes place near the Christian holiday season every year. There is some similarity in a few of the practices (like gift giving) but it is not a anti-christmas celebration, therefore it's not making a statement about Jesus, Christmas or saying anything about Christianity.

Where did you get that idea?

Inasmuch as it is a holiday display, I see no problem with any of the holiday items displayed. What holiday is the atheist group wanting to celebrate and add to this Holiday Display?

Hanukkah has nothing to do with Jesus - or Christmas for that matter - that's the point.

Your claim was "aren't the Jews effectively saying that the Christians are wrong and they're right?" I know Hanukkah has nothing to do with Jesus... or Christmas. But you said "aren't the Jews effectively saying that the Christians are wrong and they're right?" No tell me... how is their celebration of Hanukkah effectively saying that? I'll wait.

Well, I guess I'm not making my point very clearly. I'm just trying to point out that all religions have a different view of this season and what it represents. So saying that any one is "right" and one is "wrong" is sort of a waste of time IMO - even in the case of athiests. No one really knows for sure.

No, I think it would be fine to include any symbol, including an "I don't believe in anything" symbol. But to intentionally mock or say that someone elses beliefs are false, is not very American ..IN MY OPINION.
