It's no use. Until people figure out for themselves that it makes not a whit of difference whether Obama wins or if some ninny like Perry wins, they will continue to froth at the mouth every time Obama stubs his toe thinking they will convince people to vote for the Perry-ninny or the Mitt-ninny or the Ron Paul-ninny instead. As though that would turn around the mess we're in.
The day after his speech at John Kerry's Democratic Convention people were all excited about Obama, and I posted: Hold on folks, he gets all his money from big fianance houses in Chicago..That was what, 8 years ago? Your 8 years behind me..They all take money so it's ridiculous to point out Obama doners as if anybody thought he was as pure as snow? lets get all the special interest money out of Washington.....

Since you didn't "quote" a particular comment, I have no idea who you are responding to, or are you just making a general statement. As a general statement, I don't agree. If a candidate can campaign for certain issues, if clowns like OWS can try to make a point... then I suspect that a real grass-roots effort could start opening peoples eyes to the fact that we have a corrupt Political Class and they all need to be FIRED by a nonpartisan. Yes, people will have to understand this for themselves but right now I don't think they are aware enough of the actual problem to have an inkling of the answer. The answer needs to be presented to the country, nonpartisan, with only one purpose.

They can't really believe it, can they?
I'm getting scared... you seem to be on the same page as I am... or vice versa... whatever... it appears that we both see a similar solution to the problem... and we both see a similar problem.

Yeah well...I'll climb down my chimney myself with a toothbrush before I ever use The Neptune Chimney Service..

It's a better chance at change than sending the current occupier back for a return engagement. Might not be much of a chance, but any chance is better than no chance - which is exactly what the union will have if the current occupier of the Oval Office gets another 4 years.

Thanks for clearing that up for me... for a moment I thought you had stopped being an asshole... that was close.
The entire Republican field is bat-sh*t-crazy... I'm just wondering which one of the clowns the righties are going to throw themselves over the cliff over...

It has NO CHANCE so long as so many people (including you) cling to the false belief that it is all Obama and the Dems (or Bush and the Republicans for that matter) fault and that somehow by switching out one corporate pawn for another of a different brand and flavor the problem will all be solved. I've got news for you. They learned how to make your react to that crap years ago, by making you think there was any actual important difference between brands of deodorant and laundry detergent.
Granted, people have different ideas and different values, but the illusion that somehow your corporate-sponsored, corporately elected shills will deliver any different result is sheer delusion. You think you're voting to put an end to abortion and for smaller government but do you ever get either one? Some other schmuck thinks they're voting for a more equitable tax structure and an end to resource wars. Do they ever get either one?
People think if they vote for this candidate or that candidate, somehow their values will be validated, they will get the country they want. All I can say is - How's that workin' for ya?"
So you prefer - even passionately prefer - your brand of politician over someone elses. You really BELIEVE, deep down BELIEVE, that there is going to be some real, genuine difference in how the country will be run by voting for your guy over my guy. And I am here to tell you that you are nuts to believe that.
In the past 11 years, it has become so freaking obvious that the country will be run as the corporate overlords WANT it to be run. They aren't troubled by a little thing like what letter is after the name of the guy they put in the White House. Or not troubled much, anyway. The grand plan will still play out exactly as they wish.
