Oh I don't think it's a matter of handling it. Let's face it. There is so much crap and negative BS constantly in the news and being posted on here, that a natural reaction is to pull in the opposite direction, especially when there is something that is dear to one.
Sometimes it is hard to have satire come through clearly and sometimes satire strikes a little too close to the truth.
So now that you have gotten over your frustration, want to give it another try?

Yup. The communication failure in this case was obviously on the sender's part rather than the multiple receivers.

I think we should mandate Christmas and standardize every aspect of the celebration so that we can come together as a nation. Just like everything else we have asked the govt to do or let them do...because we just LOVE IT. We can have have a committee, that we of course have little say in the composition, write up a new rule of standards and if you don't follow it...or report someone else that does not follow it, simple jail time and tax penalties. I also think it should last a whole month and we should have another midsummer for the economy. So I agree, we need more laws around Christmas, but we need to make Christmas stronger, not outlaw it.
Plus people, Christmas is one of the ways us Conservatives use to concentrate the wealth into our pockets and out of yours. I mean we couldn't invent something in modern times that would convince people to trade so much money for things that typically have no value and will hurt us in the long run (oh wait I forgot about computers and Iphones, nevermind)....plus we get to ruin our kid's sense of self worth by giving them excess gifts at Christmas (but by comparing in school the next week, they do get to confirm which families are wealthier, which as we know is also very important in creating the future social ladder).
To aid in the transfer of wealth at Christmas, perhaps the first order of business needs to be mandatory expenditure of no less than 20 percent of your income. Plus, we need to have a watchdog committee at every level of government that will look into your bank accounts to insure the mandatory expenditures are made. Also we do not want you to spend on yourself, so all Christmas shopping must be done according to a list of needy recipients. It needs to be mandated that all low income workers be given a smart phone with internet access, that the expense of phone ownership be borne by the employer who also needs to provide free internet access and regular half hour breaks for phone use every hour, Yea, that ought to be a good start. Merry Christmas. I just know there was a way we can have a real impact at Christmas time.
