Gingrich Promises Presidential Commission On Ending The Separation Of Church/State
Via JMG: "Newt Gingrich has published a document vowing that "on Day One" of his presidency he will create a commission to investigate any attempt to enforce the separation of church and state. He also promises that he will thwart any attempt to stop the religious bullying of LGBT students. Effectively, Gingrich is saying that he endorses the right of Christians to express "their conscience" and harass, threaten, bully, and beat LGBT kids if God says they should."
I would have no objection to this if the Christians were outnumbered by the Jews, Muslims, Scientologists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Pagans, Unitarians, and the Lamar High School Cheerleaders, Class of 1967.
I'd be the last person to to deny any person, especially young growing adults, their sexuality. I think that people need to be able to follow their own nature, their own feeling in regards to sexuality. And I know how this "commission" idea will be misused by the right if it was every executed.
But on the flip side, should a recognized school club, even one of a religious nature, be required to accept anyone of any persuasion? If you have a Christian school club, should that club have to welcome students who are diametrically opposed to the general philosophy of that group?
Oh, it's okay, Becky... Once TLGT realizes he's not getting the required amount of 'Harrumphs!' out of his fascist neo-nazi followers he'll get tired and go back under his rock...
