Company officials say what's happening here is important. After more than a decade of American jobs being outsourced overseas, at least a few of those jobs are coming home and returning to the United States.

High unemployment has kept down wages in the U.S., while labor costs in India and other places have risen. What's more, some American companies have gotten pushback from customers tired of their calls going to India.

I can't think of many jobs that suck more than taking calls from angry customers...

I suppose the OWS crowd will say they are over qualified and reject these new jobs, staying on the dole has to be better that earning a living.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

In many cases traditional call centers are being replaced by "vitural" call centers.

Please listen carefully, as our options have changed.

It has been a few years since these call centers went overseas. In that time we spoiled the next generation rotten, while they forgot how to speak to fellow Americans (or we forgot to teach them). Are you sure that 19 year old Americans can communicate better than 30 year old Indians?

I like the idea of getting local help....just only if it is helpful, not just for the local accent.

Now if company owners would start putting their number on the box, that would be something to write home about.
