Employers add 200,000 jobs, unemployment rate falls to 8.5 percent, lowest in nearly 3 years

I just got this off the wire. I now predict that Obama will pull out this election.

He'll ride this for a little while. Then he'll get stupid and mention another stimulus package. The invested funds for those jobs will dry up like a raindrop on a hot sidewalk.

Whew, glad we can all breath a sigh of relief. Hopefully these numbers are as reliable as the deportation numbers.

"December's biggest growth came in transportation, especially courier services that staffed up for the holidays..." and you can include all the retail that staffed up for the holidays and other seasonal part time temporary work force. Right now, this month, retail will be firing thousands of temporary workers, and they will even be laying off thousands of part time workers until business picks up before Easter. This happens ever year... a lot of lower-on-the-seniority-ladder part time retail employees plan for a seasonal layoff every year at this time of year. We have 3 people in our family that are employed at various levels of retail, I know from experience.

So don't count your chickens before they hatch.

That was short lived. I expected to see the market jump.

Based on anecdotal evidence of increasing prices for raw materials and increased sales, I do think the economy is coming back. But these latest numbers need to continue lower for Obama to be comfortable about re-election. Plus there are still a number of dark clouds on the horizon like the Euro crisis.

You got bigger "dark clouds" than that....

Mitt "flip-flop" Romney
Rick "Jesus-Freak" Santorum
Newt "serial-adulterer" Gingrich

I think the bigger dark cloud is the health care bill...when it goes into full effect (after the election of course).

Europe is a mess and the continent is full of nationalism which could repeat itself in history...
