Romney: Turn Out the Lights The Party's Over?

Think the race is essentially over?

Looks like so many conservatives running that they split the vote and moderate Romney was able to rise to the top. Plus all the mini-blowups in the flavor of the week candidates.

I think after South Carolina is when you will see Perry & Huntsman depart. Newt and Santorum may hold on for a while but this is Newt's to lose.

Well, at least the media would have us all conclude that the race is over. I'll wait until more primaries weigh in. I hate that a candidate wins in two states and the media declares their nomination a foregone conclusion. I do think Perry will depart.

Newt already lost this. I like someone who can make direct and "politically correct free" statements and comments, but Newt has one small problem. He can't control when that smart and succinct style of his turns around and becomes plain nasty. He's been plain nasty. I want a president who is smart... not a president who is a smart ass.

Sorry, I meant this is Mitt's to lose. But unless there is some big dark secret in Romney's past, I think he is the Republican choice.

Cydll,
Great point about the race being called with less than 15 delegates being awarded. It would be nice to have a couple large population states get to have a say, but I do like that candidates with low funds can compete in both Iowa and New Hampshire. If Florida or California were the opening states, only deep pockets would compete successfully.

I fear you're probably correct though, Romney will probably get it. Sigh...Obama or Romney...Mayhem or Chaos...Tweedledee or Tweedledum... Maybe I'll just take your advice and write in Tim Tebow...

The tea party has been ineffective , except to get Romney to lie about his positions. The Republican establishment will win and then lose again. I was hoping for a different outcome." Sound and fury signifying nothing" should be the Tea Party's new motto.

Maybe right now, but they were a factor big time in 2010. And they may be a factor in many local primaries & elections in 2012.

JMC, we all know your thoughts on the Tea Party. I would like to know what you think about the Occupy Movement. Do they bother you too. (Warning: before you answer.... If you are sympathetic to that side then you are just against the Tea Party because they are conservatives)
